Visiting our Defeat Autism Now! Doctor

Happy Valentine's Day! I spent all day with my two boys (my DH and Henry) - my two sweeties! Today was our first visit in a long time to Henry's Defeat Autism Now! doctor in New Jersey. He is a great guy and we have been patients since 2004. His treatments are a huge reason Henry has made the progress he has. We had not been since last August, which in the world of biomedical is a lifetime! We were supposed to go in December but life conspired against us until today. It was amazing how we seemed to be on the same page today...we are exploring a very targeted form neurofeedback with Henry -- while it looks good, it is a big commitment so we need to work out whether it is feasible and explore it further. Even my DH thinks it sounds like a good thing for Henry, so that is a big first step. The doctor had no new supplements to add etc., and he thought Henry generally looked great! We also ran into one of his old IV nurses as we were leaving (we have not done IVs since the summer of '08) and she was thrilled to see him and also commented on how great he seems to be doing (but he got embarrassed by how effusive she was!)

So much for New Year's Resolutions

Well, I started this blog with the best intentions and then life got in the way... but I really am going to start, I swear. In fact, no time like the present for a quick post. Today is a fun-filled day of driving around to the North of NYC. H has an appointment with his NAET practitioner, Geri Brewster, this afternoon. She is doing tremendous work clearing him of allergens. Since it was so cold two weeks ago she cleared him of mold (we will check today to see if it stuck) -- hopefully that will help make for a smoother Spring. A trip there almost always results in a trip to Target (more fun without dad, who is not a shopper like me and H and is staying home today!!!) Then a paint store to get a fanbook and/or sample cards of no-VOC Mythic paints for our upcoming home reno. Finally, if I can drag myself, Whole Foods in White Plains -- I love the attached covered parking and I feel so suburban loading my groceries into a car trunk (for a city gal this is a true change of pace).

I finally decided to join the 21st century and start a blog. I will be blogging here about my son Henry and myself and our journey toward better health and well-being. We do many different things and I soon will explain more about them... Now, since I am on vacation, I have to run and pick Henry up from his "vacation" (he begs to differ) reading program.
